Cold temperatures reduce available power
A battery produces less immediate power at low temperatures. A vehicle that starts normally in summer may crank slowly on a winter morning, especially after repeated short trips.
Check the battery before it fails
Once a battery is fully discharged, you may need roadside assistance and have less flexibility in scheduling a replacement. If the battery is more than three years old or cranking has slowed, arrange an inspection before temperatures fall.
