Why Test the UPS Before the Rainy Season

Power disturbances are not the time to discover reduced backup capacity. A planned UPS check can reveal warnings, weak batteries and environmental risks early.

Test before the system is needed

Review alarm logs, self-test results and recent backup performance. Any test affecting critical loads should follow the equipment manual and an approved operational plan.

Consider age and environment together

Installation age, room temperature, humidity and prior discharge events provide context for test results. Inspect for water ingress and condensation around the equipment room.

Quick checklist

1Review UPS alarms
2Confirm the last battery replacement
3Inspect for water ingress
4Plan any load test safely
